FORMER US ATTORNEY JESSICA ABER FOUND DEAD AT 43, INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Jessica Aber, former US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead in her home on Saturday morning at the age of 43. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her sudden passing.

Alexandria police responded to a call about an "unresponsive woman" around 9:20 a.m. and discovered Aber’s body. The cause of death remains unknown and will be determined by the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Aber, a Biden appointee, had an esteemed legal career. She served as an assistant US attorney from 2009, later becoming counsel to the assistant attorney general in 2015. In 2021, she was appointed as the top prosecutor in Virginia’s Eastern District.

Current US Attorney Erik Siebert expressed deep sorrow, calling Aber an "unmatched leader, mentor, and prosecutor." Authorities continue to investigate her passing, with no further details released at this time.
