For the second consecutive day, Palestinians in Gaza took to the streets in rare protests against Hamas, expressing frustration over the prolonged war and humanitarian crisis. Thousands participated in the largest anti-Hamas demonstrations since the conflict began in October 2023, chanting "Hamas out!" and demanding the group's resignation.

The protests erupted amid growing despair as the war’s death toll exceeded 50,000. Residents, devastated by destruction and displacement, openly blamed Hamas for their suffering. Despite Hamas’ claims that the demonstrations were directed at Israel, witness reports suggest otherwise, with Gazans voicing their anger at Hamas’ rule.
Since seizing control in 2007, Hamas has ruled Gaza without elections, silencing dissent. Now, as Israeli airstrikes intensify and aid remains blocked, Gazans are challenging Hamas’ governance. The unprecedented protests signal a turning point, as war-fatigued civilians reject both Hamas' leadership and the ongoing conflict, yearning for stability and peace.
