India’s men’s team has enjoyed one of the most dominant periods in ICC tournaments between 2023 and 2025. They completed unbeaten campaigns at the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy. Had they defeated Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, they would have held all three ICC limited-overs trophies simultaneously—a feat never achieved.

West Indies dominated between 1975 and 1983, reaching three consecutive ODI World Cup finals and winning two without losing a match. Australia surpassed them by winning three straight ODI World Cups (1999, 2003, 2007) and a Champions Trophy in 2006, losing only six of 44 ICC tournament matches during this period.
Ricky Ponting, who captained Australia in five ICC events from 1999 to 2007, had a phenomenal record of 30-3, winning two World Cups and a Champions Trophy. India’s recent run places them among the greatest teams in ICC history.
