The U.S. and Israel have reached out to officials in Sudan, Somalia, and Somaliland to explore the possibility of resettling displaced Palestinians from Gaza under President Donald Trump's proposed postwar plan. This controversial initiative has faced widespread criticism, with concerns over its legality and moral implications.

Sudanese officials confirmed rejecting the proposal, while representatives from Somalia and Somaliland stated they were unaware of any discussions. Trump's plan suggests relocating Gaza’s over 2 million residents while the U.S. takes control of the territory for redevelopment.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised the initiative, but Palestinians and Arab nations strongly oppose it, considering it forced displacement. Human rights groups warn it could constitute a war crime.

Despite global condemnation, Trump remains firm on his stance. U.S. and Israeli officials, speaking anonymously, acknowledged the diplomatic outreach, though the extent of progress remains uncertain. Israel is reportedly leading the discussions.
