In a rare incident on Sunday morning, 24 people were injured during a bee attack in Aurillac, France, with three initially in critical condition. According to local authorities, the attack lasted around 30 minutes, stinging pedestrians and triggering panic across the town centre. Emergency responders swiftly arrived to treat victims, and police established a safety perimeter until the bees calmed.

Lt. Col. Michel Cayla of the local fire service described the situation as "dramatic" due to the number of people hurt and the severity of injuries. One of the victims, a 78-year-old, suffered cardiac arrest but was revived and is now stable. The other two critical patients are reportedly in good health.

Aurillac’s mayor, Pierre Mathonier, revealed that the bees may have been provoked by Asian hornets attacking their hive, which had been on a hotel roof for over a decade. The hive has since been safely relocated by a beekeeper.
